Protecting a Community with Physical Security

Updated: Jun 26, 2018

Millennium Communication Group (MCG) has recently put the finishing touches on a state of the art video surveillance network for Newark Housing Authority (NHA). The network consists of a fiber optic backbone which lays the foundation for over 600 cameras to monitor 45 housing units throughout the city of Newark, NJ. This allows NHA to remotely monitor all of their housing sites from centralized locations.

Millennium Communications Group worked closely with NHA to place cameras and access control solutions in critical areas throughout the NHA properties. All security equipment ties into monitoring stations both on each property, and at NHA centralized command center.

The fiber optic backbone infrastructure that connects all of the properties back to the command center provides the bandwidth needed to support high resolution video in real-time so that security employees can keep an active eye on critical areas, helping to ensure resident safety.

With the new system in place, residents have seen a drastic decline in criminal activity. Be sure to read the entire article to see how our technology solutions helped the Newark Housing Authority.
